     Desert Flare

In the three photos below, one can see the two mil spec hard cases that enclose the battery and electronics.  The pair of 150-watt, high-efficiency, foldable solar panels in black can be seen in front, and they are carried separately.  Both of the mil spec hard cases come in digital desert camouflage.

This system can provide up to a continuous 600 watts of pure sine wave 120VAC power, and is best suited to provide power for all small, medium, and some larger electronic devices.  The high-efficiency, relatively small-footprint, 300-watt solar array (pair of 150-watt solarpanels) allows one to harvest a large amount of energy throughout the day.  That, in conjunction with the ability of the MPPT solar charge controllers to harvest 30% more energy than non-MPPT controllers, makes this system the most advanced and powerful design available.

Desert Flare includes: Battery - 90 amp-hour, 1152 watt-hour, 12.8-volt lithium iron yttrium phosphate unit; Solar Charge Controllers - pair of 10.5-amp/140-watt MPPT units, each of which is able to manage the power production of one 150-watt solar panel; Solar Array - two 150-watt, high-efficiency, lightweight, folding, monocrystalline units that are the latest in our armamentarium of cutting edge products.  Each of the two panels is configured using five 24.2% - efficient solar cells (30 watts each) that are meticulously incorporated into heavy duty and waterproof nylon fabric backing, and this pair of solar panels will get the job done.  The color of the fabric is solid black.  Following are the basic electrical and performance specs for each of the two identical panels: Voltage @ Pmax = 18VDC; Current @ Pmax = 8.3 amps; Open circuit voltage (Voc) = 21.6VDC; Short circuit current (Isc) = 9.93 amps; Weight = 9.8 pounds; Dimensions folded (inches) = 22 1/2 x 15 3/4 x 1 1/8; Dimensions unfolded (inches) = 78 x 22 1/4.  The power output cable consists of a standard SAE twin-plug trailer connector that comes with standard polarity, can be adapted to mate with a variety of connectors, charge controllers, etc., and that is enclosed in a small fabric pocket that is built into the solar panel.  The folded configuration of the panel is maintained by a Velcro closure flap.  Please see http://www.powerenz.com/store/admin.php?_g=products/index&edit=313 for more photos of, and details about this solar panel.  Inverter - continuous 600-watt, surge 1200-watt, 12-volt DC - to - 120-volt AC/60 Hz unit that has a pair of GFCI AC outlets, an ON-OFF switch, a thermostatically-controlled cooling fan, and battery low-voltage alarm and shutdown.  The connector-cable from the battery that delivers power to the inverter is protected by a 100-amp circuit breaker, and that limits the delivery of power to the inverter to 1280 watts; Hard cases - an IP67 and DEF_STAN_8-41 approved case in digital MARPAT desert camouflage encloses the battery, the solar charge controllers, and the cable-connector that mates with a similar cable-connector from the inverter.  A pair of solar power input connectors are implanted in the walls of the case, and that allows the battery pack to be solar charged with the lid of the case closed.  The lid of the case must be opened to access the connector for the inverter; a second IP67 and DEF_STAN_81-41 approved case in the same camouflage pattern encloses the inverter.  The inverter is wired with a quick connect-disconnect connector-cable that mates with  a similar one in the battery case.  The lid of the second case must be opened to access the inverter.

All connectors and cables are included.

The case that encloses the battery pack weighs 52 pounds.  The case that encloses the inverter weighs 14.5 pounds.

Optional: if desired, a 10-amp AC-powered battery charger that operates on worldwide AC voltages may be added to the system for an additional cost.

For those applications where 12-volt DC is required, the system can be modified easily to accomodate that request.

This advanced system is palletized and shrink-wrapped for shipping, weighs in excess of 150 pounds, and cannot be ordered directly from the website.  Please call 770 639 2244 for questions and ordering.

In the photos below, one can see that the two solar power input connectors, one for each solar power output cable or solar panel, are implanted into a side wall of the hard case that encloses the battery and the two solar charge controllers, and that each solar power input connector has a cap.  With the cap removed, the extension cable from the solar array plugs directly into the implanted connector, one on each side of the hard case.

In the three photos below, one can see the two mil spec hard cases with their lids closed, and with their lids opened, and a single 150-watt high-efficiency solar panel folded and in black.

In the photos below, one can see that the tops of the two mil spec hard cases are opened, and that the two quick connect-disconnect adapters that link the battery pack to the inverter are exposed.  In the background is a different type of solar array (not included).

In the two photos below, one can see that the quick connect-disconnect adapters are pushed together and linked, allowing the inverter to operate from the battery pack.

In the photo below, one can see that the pure sine wave inverter has a pair of GFCI-controlled AC outlets, an ON-OFF switch, and LEDs that indicate the status of operation.

In the photo below, one can see a closer view of the digital desert camouflage pattern on the mil spec hard case that encloses the inverter.

In the photos below, one can see that the mil spec hard case that encloses the battery and two solar charge controllers has a retractable telescoping handle to assist with its transport.  The lighter weight hard case that encloses the inverter is very easy to carry.

In the photo below, one can see the two hard cases with their lids opened, the inverter removed from its custom foam padding, connected to the battery pack and ready to use, and the 300-watt fold out solar array unfolded.
