     Powerenz LFP40 Hard Case

In the photograph below, one can see (from left to right) the 88-watt high-efficiency foldable solar panel, the hard case in leafy woodland camouflage that contains the battery and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar charge controller, and the heavy-duty carrying bag in digital ACU camouflage that contains the accessories.

     Powerenz LFP40 Hard Case utilizes the finest technology obtainable.  It takes advantage of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry that weighs 40-50% less than lead acid batteries of the same energy capacity, and that will provide at least 2000 charge/discharge cycles before it begins to lose its performance.  If you discharge an AGM or Gel lead acid battery by 70% of its rated charge capacity every day, you will need to replace the battery every 250-300 days vs. every 2000 days when using the LFP battery in our system.  

     Powerenz LFP40 Hard Case utilizes Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology solar charging which optimizes the electronic relationship between solar panel and battery.  This can accelerate the rate at which the battery can be solar-charged by up to 30% per day.  Our solar charging systems are configured specifically for our LFP series of portable solar power systems.

     This Portable Solar Power System can be carried during events where high power, high energy density and low weight are critical.  Powerenz LFP40 Hard Case can provide power for a variety of portable electronic devices that require 12 volts DC up to 15 amps/180 watts, 120 volts AC up to 120 watts, and that can recharge itself in sunlight using the included solar panel.  This system is best suited to provide power for virtually all small to medium size portable electronic devices, such as cell and satellite phones, communication radios, laptop computers, small battery chargers, night vision systems, satellite repeaters, lighting fixtures, small televisions, GPS’s, flashlights, small refrigeration units, and more. 

     The battery and solar charge controller are housed inside a waterproof, dustproof, and crushproof hard case.  The extension cable, AC-powered battery charger, inverter, extra fuses, and cigarette lighter socket adapter-cable are carried separately in a heavy-duty carrying bag in digital ACU camouflage.  The folding solar panel is carried separately.  12-volt DC power is accessible via a covered, waterproof, marine-rated adapter that is implanted in a sidewall of the hard case, and into which plugs the cigarette lighter socket adapter-cable.  120-volt AC power is provided by an inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket adapter or directly to the battery.  The solar power input connector is implanted into a sidewall of the hard case.

     The Powerenz LFP40 Hard Case includes:

     Battery - rechargeable, 12.8-volt, 40 amp-hour, 512 watt-hour LFP unit.  The battery can be charged directly from the solar panel using the solar charge controller and custom connector-extension cable, or from the included smart, 3-amp, 100-240VAC-powered charger when the grid is available.  The AC recharging time is approximately 15 hours from empty to full.         

     Solar panel – high-efficiency, foldable 88-watt/5.1-amp unit in digital ACU camouflage that weighs 8.1 pounds, that will require approximately 10-12 hours of peak sunlight to recharge the battery from empty to full, and that measures 23 x 12 x 2 inches folded, and 48 x 23 x 1/8 inches unfolded.  The capped solar power input adapter is accessible from the outer surface of the hard case, and an connector-extension cable is included.  See http://www.powerenz.com//index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=296 for the details about this panel.

     Solar Charge Controller – a 10.5-amp/140-watt unit that uses MPPT to accelerate solar charging of the battery by up to 30%, and that is controlled by a circuit breaker.  If the system is to be stored for a prolonged length of time, the circuit breaker should be turned to the OFF position and/or the battery should be charged every 1-2 months in order to prevent complete drainage of the battery.  In order to solar charge the battery, the circuit breaker must be turned to the ON position.

     Hard Case – IPX7 (waterproof), and IP6X (dustproof) certified (Environ Laboratories), and crushproof case in leafy woodland camouflage that can be carried by a rugged handle.  

      Power Inverter - continuous 120-watt, 12VDC to 120VAC, pure sine wave unit that has one AC receptacle and one standard USB charge port (5VDC/0.5-amp).  The inverter plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket adapter or connects directly to the battery.

     AC-powered Battery Charger - 3-amp unit that operates via worldwide voltages 110-240-volts AC, 50 or 60 Hz, and that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket adapter.

     The system weighs 37 pounds.
