Powerenz Portable Solar Charging System, LiPo48 - 138W

     In the photo below, one can see the LiPo48-50W hard case opened with the built-in 50 watt fold out solar panel unfolded, and the additional 88-watt high-efficiency foldable solar panel unfolded to the right, both recharging the 48 amp-hour battery that is built into the hard case.

 

     This portable and waterproof solar charger system will deliver a maximum of 96 watts/8 amps of power via one 12-volt cigarette lighter socket, 350 watts of continuous 120-volt/60 Hz power until the battery runs out of energy, and is best suited to provide power for small and medium size portable electronics, including laptops, communication radios, battery chargers, media players, iPhones/Pads, Tablets, small power tools, energy-efficient lights, small energy-efficient refrigeration/freezer units (temporary), CPAP machines, etc.  If the power draw of your electronic device is 60 watts, the battery will last approximately 8 hours in the absence of incoming solar power before it needs to be recharged, longer if the power draw is less.  The preferred maximum power draw from the cigarette lighter socket is up to 96 watts.  If the power draw from the cigarette lighter socket exceeds 150 watts, power delivery will automatically shut down, then re-set itself once the load has been disconnected.  If the power draw on the inverter exceeds 350 watts, it will automatically shut off power until the load has been disconnected.  The cigarette lighter socket and the AC outlet may be used simultaneously.  The battery, solar charge controller, inverter, control panel, LED light and switch, operational LCD display screen, master power ON-OFF switch, and 50-watt folding solar panel are built into and enclosed in a waterproof (IP65) and dust-proof hard case.  

     Powerenz LiPo 48 - 138W comes with: Battery: 48 amp-hour (532.8 watt-hour) lithium polymer unit that comes configured with a protective circuitry that limits the discharge current to 32 amps/355.2 watts.  To maintain the battery pack, please recharge it every 3-4 months until it is completely charged, and do not allow the digital state-of-charge indicator to drop to 0%.  Solar Charge Controller: 8-amp unit that is built into the hard case.  The accessory solar power input port is able to handle an extra 60 watts of incoming power, and has a maximum input voltage of 23VDC.  Solar arrayFive CE, ROHS, and PSE-certified, monocrystalline 10-watt/18-volt (total 50W/2.78 amps) units linked together and arranged in a fold-up and fold-out configuration that will require approximately 18 hours of peak sunlight to completely recharge the battery, and that is built into the hard case.  An additional, superior, high-efficiency, folding 88-watt folding solar panel is included along with the connector-adapter that links this solar panel to the control panel of the hard case system.  Please see http://www.powerenz.com//solar-panels-foldable/high-efficiency-foldable-solar-panel-88-watt/prod_296.html for a detailed description and photos of the 88-watt solar panel.  The additional 88-watt panel increases the potential power production of the built-in solar array from 50 watts to 138 watts, and will theoretically allow the end user to solar recharge the battery in one-half the time.  AC-powered battery charger: built into the hard case is a 6-amp "smart" worldwide unit that operates via North American 120 volts AC, that plugs into a standard North American AC receptacle via an included connector-extension cable that plugs directly into the control panel, and that will require approximately 9 hours to recharge the battery from empty to full.  Inverter: continuous 350-watt pure sine wave unit.  Control panel: encloses one 3-prong AC outlet (350 watts), one AC-charging port, one 12-volt DC cigarette lighter socket (5-8 amps), two 12-volt DC 5.5 x 2.1 mm power plug ports (3 amps each), one 5.5 x 2.1 mm solar power input port into which the additional 88-watt panel is plugged, a pair of standard Type A USB ports, and ON-OFF switches for AC and DC power outputs.  The maximum combined/simultaneous output from the cigarette lighter socket and the two 12-volt DC power plug ports is 13 amps.  The control panel has a waterproof safety cover that opens and closes via a pair of turn knobs.  Case: waterproof (IP65) and dust-proof hard case in dark grey that has a heavy-duty carrying handle, and that measures 17.4 x 13.6 x 5.7 inches in external dimensions.  LED: one 3-watt LED light that is located on one side of the hard case, that is controlled by an ON-OFF button that is located on top of the hard case, and that can be set to flash an SOS signal, remain illuminated, or be off.  LCD display: "intelligent" display system that indicates battery charge capacity indicator, charging status, errors, and AC and DC power output status.  USB: one pair of standard Type A USB charge ports, the combined output current of which is 2 amps.

     The hard case measures 17 1/2 x 13 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches, and weighs 22.6 pounds.  The 88-watt solar panel weighs 8.1 pounds.  The weight of the entire system is 30.7 pounds.
